LCO No. 4856 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 6111 January Session, 2019 LCO No. 4856 Referred to Committee on LABOR AND PUBLIC EMPLOYEES Introduced by: (LAB) AN ACT AUTHORIZING EMPLOYERS TO ENROLL EMPLOYEES IN DIRECT PAYCHECK DEPO SIT PROGRAMS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Notwithstanding any other 1 provision of the general statutes, an employer with twenty-five or 2 more employees may automatically enroll its employees into a direct 3 paycheck deposit program. Any such enrolled employee may opt out 4 of such program and elect to be paid by either cash or check. 5 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To allow employers to control their costs of doing business by allowing them to automatically enroll their employees into direct paycheck deposit programs.
