AN ACT REQUIRING THE DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES
AND PUBLIC PROTECTION TO ESTABLISH A REGISTRY OF
PERPETRATORS OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of 1
Emergency Services and Public Protection to establish, maintain and 2
make public a registry of individuals who reside in Connecticut and 3
have been convicted of a crime involving child abuse or neglect, 4
provided a victim of any individual whose name appears in such 5
registry may petition the court to have the individual's name removed 6
from the publicly available registry if the presence of the individual's 7
name could indicate the identity of the victim. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Department of Emergency Services and Public
Protection to establish, maintain and make public a registry of
individuals who reside in Connecticut and have been convicted of a
crime involving child abuse or neglect.
