AN ACT ESTABLISHING A WORKING GROUP TO STUDY BEST 
PRACTICES REGARDING SOCIAL -EMOTIONAL LEARNING. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to establish a working group 1 
to study issues relating to best practices for the promotion of social-2 
emotional learning in schools, and such working group shall (1) 3 
identify successful models of social-emotional learning that are being 4 
implemented by school districts in Connecticut or other states, (2) 5 
analyze the suspension and expulsion rates, prior to and after a 6 
successful model has been implemented in a school district, and (3) 7 
make recommendations for how such successful models can be 8 
expanded and implemented in other school districts throughout the 9 
state. 10 
Statement of Purpose:   
To establish a working group to study issues relating to best practices 
for social-emotional learning.
