AN ACT CONCERNING THE REPORTING AND REPAIRING OF HAZARDOUS AND NONHAZARDOUS GAS LEAKS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 16-34a of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to open a docket to set a schedule 2 for local gas distribution companies to repair, on or before January 1, 3 2023, all hazardous and nonhazardous gas leaks reported to such 4 companies on or before the effective date of this section and require all 5 hazardous and nonhazardous gas leaks reported to such companies 6 after the effective date of this section to be repaired within two 7 business days of being reported. 8 Statement of Purpose: To require the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to open a docket to set a schedule for local gas distribution companies to repair all existing hazardous and nonhazardous gas leaks and require all new hazardous and nonhazardous gas leaks to be repaired within two business days of being reported.
