AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF SINGLE -USE, PLASTIC
STRAWS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit businesses from 1
providing a single-use, plastic straw to a consumer with the exception 2
of those consumers who have a disability which requires them to use a 3
straw and with the further exception for single-use, plastic straws sold 4
over the Internet. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit the distribution of single-use, plastic straws by businesses
in the state.
