AN ACT CONCERNING PROTECTIONS FOR CERTAIN GROUP CHILD
CARE AND FAMILY CHILD CARE HOMES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That (1) section 8-3j of the general statutes be amended to include 1
licensed group child care homes and require municipalities to certify 2
compliance with said section; (2) title 8 of the general statutes be 3
amended to prohibit municipalities that fail to comply with the 4
requirements of said title from receiving state funding; (3) chapter 700 5
of the general statutes be amended to permit owners of licensed group 6
child care homes and licensed family child care homes to name such 7
owners' landlords, homeowner associations and condominium 8
associations as additional insureds on such providers' homeowners 9
insurance policies; (4) title 47a of the general statutes be amended to 10
permit a landlord to request an additional security deposit from a 11
tenant who operates a licensed group child care home or licensed 12
family child care home at a property leased from such landlord; and 13
(5) the general statutes be amended to prohibit landlords, homeowner 14
associations and condominium associations from limiting or banning 15
the operation of licensed group child care homes and licensed family 16

Statement of Purpose:
To clarify and enforce protections for licensed group child care homes
and licensed family child care homes and prevent landlords and
certain owners' associations from placing restrictions on the operation
of such homes.
