AN ACT ALLOWING MEDICAID REIMBURSEMENT FOR SPOUSES
WHO ARE PRIMARY CARE GIVERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to allow a spouse 1
of a person eligible for Medicaid to receive payment as a personal care 2
attendant when such spouse is the primary care giver and provider of 3
personal care for a person eligible for such care. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To ease the financial burden on spouses who are primary care givers to
Medicaid-eligible persons in need of the services of a personal care
attendant.
