Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subsection (n) of section 8-8 of the general statutes is 1 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 2 October 1, 2019): 3 (n) [No appeal taken under subsection (b) of this section shall be 4 withdrawn and no settlement between the parties to any such appeal 5 shall be effective unless and until a hearing has been held before the 6 Superior Court and such court has approved such proposed 7 withdrawal or settlement.] An aggrieved person who initiates an 8 appeal pursuant to subsection (b) of this section may withdraw such 9 appeal and the court shall permit the withdrawal of such appeal 10 without holding a hearing, provided any defendant may object to the 11 withdrawal of the appeal by filing a written objection with the court 12 not later than thirty days after the date of the filing of the withdrawal, 13 in which case the court shall hold a hearing to determine whether 14 withdrawal of the appeal shall be permitted. 15 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 October 1, 2019 8-8(n) JUD Joint Favorable Subst.
