AN ACT CONCERNING THE SHARING OF CERTAIN PROPERTY TAX
REVENUE BY MUNICIPALITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that if a business 1
relocates from a municipality in the state to another municipality in the 2
state in order to take advantage of financial support or incentives 3
provided by the state to encourage such relocation, any property tax 4
payments made by the business to the municipality to which it 5
relocated shall be shared equally with the municipality from which the 6
business moved. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To mitigate the financial losses incurred by municipalities from which
businesses move in order to take advantage of certain state assistance.
