AN ACT CONCERNING THE ELIMINATION OF THE REQUIREMENT THAT A SUPERINTENDENT PROVIDE AUTHORIZATION FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF SIXTEEN AND SEVENTEEN -YEAR-OLD STUDENTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 10-193 of the general statutes be amended to eliminate 1 the requirement that the superintendent of schools of any local or 2 regional board of education or the supervisory agent of a nonpublic 3 school furnish to any person desiring to employ a minor sixteen or 4 seventeen years of age a certificate showing that such minor is fourteen 5 years of age or older. 6 Statement of Purpose: To eliminate the mandate that a school superintendent provide a certificate to authorize students who are sixteen and seventeen years old to be employed.
