AN ACT REQUIRING A STUDY ON THE FEASIBILITY OF A BLACK BEAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require that the 1 Department of Energy and Environmental Protection conduct a study 2 for developing recommendations regarding bear overpopulation that 3 shall include, but not be limited to, the feasibility of designating a 4 wildlife refuge or sanctuary for bears on designated or state-owned 5 land. 6 Statement of Purpose: To generate recommendations for a safe, humane and effective way of dealing with the state's bear population.
