AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TAX CREDIT FOR GRADUATES OF 
INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE STATE. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to allow a credit against 1 
personal income tax in an amount equal to the payment of student 2 
loans by any individual who (1) receives a bachelor's or associate 3 
degree from a public or independent nonprofit institution of higher 4 
education in the state, and (2) is a resident in the state. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To establish a personal income tax credit for graduates with a 
bachelor's or associate degree from a public or independent nonprofit 
institution of higher education who live in the state.
