AN ACT ALLOWING A DEDUCTION FOR THE COST OF SERVICE
ANIMALS FROM RENTAL PAYMENTS FOR SUBSIDIZED HOUSING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 8 of the general statutes be amended to allow a deduction 1
for the cost of a service animal from rental payments for state-2
subsidized housing. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce the financial burden for the elderly and disabled persons in
subsidized housing by allowing them to deduct the cost of service
animals as a medical deduction from their rental costs.
