AN ACT CONCERNING THE ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM
PARENTAGE ACT OF 2017.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to adopt the Uniform 1
Parentage Act of 2017 so as to allow an unmarried, same-sex couple to 2
be listed as the child's parents on the child's birth certificate. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that unmarried, same-sex couples are treated the same as
unmarried, heterosexual couples for purposes of being able to be listed
as the child's parents on the child's birth certificate.
