AN ACT REQUIRING HOSPITALS TO OFFER THE INFLUENZA VACCINE TO SENIOR CITIZENS PRIOR TO THEIR DISCHARGE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require each hospital to 1 offer during flu season, from no later than October first to no earlier 2 than March first, annually, to each patient who is at least sixty-five 3 years of age, prior to such patient's discharge, an immunization against 4 the influenza virus, unless such immunization is contraindicated and 5 contingent upon the availability of the vaccine. 6 Statement of Purpose: To ensure flu vaccines are offered to senior citizens prior to discharge from a hospital.
