AN ACT PROHIBITING A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER FROM
REQUIRING PREPAYMENT FOR THE PROVISION OF HEALTH CARE
SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit a health care 1
provider from requiring a patient to prepay for a necessary medical 2
procedure and require that such provider use the process for charging 3
for an emergency room procedure. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit a health care provider from requiring a deposit for the
provision of health care services.
