AN ACT CONCERNING TRANSPORTATION OF POLICE DOGS BY AMBULANCE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to allow an ambulance to 1 transport a police dog injured in the line of duty and in need of 2 emergency medical care to a veterinary clinic or similar facility if there 3 are no individuals in need of transportation or emergency assistance, 4 provided a police officer may be required to accompany the dog 5 during transportation. 6 Statement of Purpose: To provide for the safety and well being of police dogs by allowing an ambulance to transport a police dog injured in the line of duty and in need of emergency medical care to a veterinary clinic or similar facility if there are no individuals in need of transportation or emergency assistance.
