AN ACT REQUIRING PARENTAL NOTIFICATION PRIOR TO THE TERMINATION OF A PREGNANCY BY A MINOR. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require that, prior to the 1 termination of a pregnancy, the parent or guardian of any minor who 2 seeks to terminate such pregnancy is notified, provided such minor 3 may seek and receive court approval to terminate the pregnancy in a 4 proceeding that ensures the minor's anonymity and is conducted with 5 sufficient expedition to allow her to terminate the pregnancy. 6 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that the best interest of a minor are protected when facing an unplanned pregnancy.
