AN ACT CONCERNING REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSPORTATION
NETWORK COMPANY DRIVERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 13b-119 of the general statutes be amended to (1) 1
require the Commissioner of Transportation to create and maintain a 2
registry with the names and contact information of transportation 3
network company drivers authorized to provide prearranged rides 4
and make such registry available to law enforcement agencies for use 5
in emergencies, and (2) prohibit a transportation network company 6
driver from providing a prearranged ride unless the potential 7
transportation network company rider presents valid identification 8
that indicates that such rider has an account or is an authorized user of 9
an account with the transportation network company. 10
Statement of Purpose:
To protect transportation network company riders by creating a state
registry of transportation network company drivers and requiring
riders to present valid identification before entering a transportation
network company vehicle.
