LCO No. 5531 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 6603 January Session, 2019 LCO No. 5531 Referred to Committee on COMMERCE Introduced by: (CE) AN ACT REQUIRING A STUDY CONCERNING INNOVATIO N AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE STATE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Economic 1 and Community Development shall conduct a study relating to 2 methods that the Department of Economic and Community 3 Development may use to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship 4 in the state. Not later than February 1, 2020, the commissioner shall 5 submit a report on the results of such study to the joint standing 6 committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 7 relating to commerce, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-8 4a of the general statutes. 9 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Committee Bill No. 6603 LCO No. 5531 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To require the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development to study methods that the Department of Economic and Community Development may use to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the state.
