AN ACT CONCERNING THE ADMISSIBILITY OF STATEMENTS MADE 
BY A PERSON WITH AN INTELLECTUAL OR DEVELOPMENTAL 
DISABILITY IN A CRIMINAL OR JUVENILE PROCEEDING. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 54-86l of the general statutes be amended to include a 1 
statement by a person with an intellectual or developmental disability, 2 
including autism, as statements that may be admissible, despite any 3 
other rule of evidence, in a criminal or juvenile proceeding.  4 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require that a statement made by a person with an intellectual or 
developmental disability, including autism, at the time of the offense 
be admissible in a criminal or juvenile proceeding.
