AN ACT EXPEDITING THE PISTOL OR REVOLVER AND LONG GUN 
PERMITTING PROCESSES FOR AN INDIVIDUAL PROTECTED BY A 
PROTECTIVE OR RESTRAINING ORDER. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That sections 29-28, 29-28a, 29-36g and 29-37q of the general statutes 1 
be amended to require the Department of Emergency Services and 2 
Public Protection to approve or deny an application for a state permit 3 
to carry a pistol or revolver, eligibility certificate for a pistol or revolver 4 
or long gun eligibility certificate within thirty days of the application's 5 
filing when the applicant is an individual protected by a protective or 6 
restraining order issued pursuant to section 46b-15, 46b-16a, 46b-38c, 7 
53a-40e or 54-1k of the general statutes. 8 
Statement of Purpose:   
To expedite pistol or revolver and long gun permitting processes when 
the permit applicant is an individual protected by a protective or 
restraining order.
