AN ACT CONCERNING TEACHER PREPARATION FOR EARLY
LITERACY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-145a of the general statutes be amended to require 1
that any program of teacher preparation leading to professional 2
certification shall include twelve credit hours of instruction on the 3
science of reading and its application. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To require that any program of teacher preparation leading to
professional certification shall include twelve credit hours of
instruction on the science of reading and its application.
