AN ACT PENALIZING PERSONS WHO MISREPRESENT 
THEMSELVES AS SOCIAL WORKERS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 20 of the general statutes be amended to establish financial 1 
penalties for persons who misrepresent themselves as social workers 2 
without holding a baccalaureate or master's degree in social work from 3 
a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. 4 
Statement of Purpose:   
To prevent unqualified persons from holding themselves out as and 
practicing as social workers.
