AN ACT CONCERNING A GRANDPARENT'S ACCESS TO THE BIRTH
CERTIFICATE OF HIS OR HER GRANDCHILD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 7-51 of the general statutes be amended to create a 1
mechanism that will prohibit a grandparent from having access to the 2
birth certificate of his or her grandchild when there is reason to believe 3
that such access will endanger the grandchild or cause other harm. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To curtail the right of a grandparent to access the birth certificate of his
or her grandchild in certain situations.
