AN ACT CONCERNING A COLLABORATIVE RELATI ONSHIP
BETWEEN PHYSICIAN AS SISTANTS AND PHYSICIANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subdivision (5) of section 20-12a of the general statutes is
repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July
1, 2019):
(5) "Physician assistant" means an individual who: (A) Functions in
a [dependent] collaborative relationship with a physician licensed
pursuant to this chapter; and (B) is licensed pursuant to section 20-12b
to provide patient services under the supervision, control,
responsibility and direction of said physician.
