AN ACT REQUIRING CERTAIN STATE BUILDINGS TO BE ACCESSIBLE TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 29-269 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 State Building Code be amended to require (1) any building leased to 2 the state by a private entity for use as a state facility, and (2) any state-3 owned building that is being renovated, to add accessible equipment 4 for persons with disabilities, including wheelchair ramps, power-assist 5 doors and accessible restrooms and elevators. 6 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that state buildings being renovated or buildings being leased to the state are accessible to persons with disabilities.
