AN ACT CONCERNING ACCESS BY BLIND AND VISUALLY
IMPAIRED PERSONS TO PUBLIC INFORMATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 61 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Department of Administrative Services to (1) develop an information 2
and telecommunications plan to provide access to government web 3
sites and public safety notices in audio formats for blind and visually 4
impaired persons, and (2) develop, within available appropriations, a 5
grant program to assist municipalities with providing such access. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To provide audio access by blind or visually impaired persons to
government web sites and public safety notices.
