AN ACT CONCERNING COUNSELING OR DEBRIEFING FOR POLICE
OFFICERS AFTER TRAUMATIC EVENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require each law 1
enforcement agency to adopt a policy requiring police officers to 2
receive counseling or debriefing before returning to duty after a 3
traumatic incident. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To require counseling or debriefing for police officers after a traumatic
incident and ensure they are prepared to return to duty.
