AN ACT CONCERNING IM PROVED PUBLIC ACCESS TO CERTAIN
BUSINESS RECORDS FIL ED WITH THE SECRETAR Y OF THE STATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) The Secretary of the State, or the 1
secretary's designee, shall direct the Commercial Recording Division of 2
the office of the Secretary of the State to make enhancements to the 3
CONCORD commercial records database, on or before July 1, 2020, 4
that allow a member of the public to ascertain the name and address of 5
a business entity's agent for service of process by entering the name of 6
the owner, officer or agent of a business entity in the database. 7
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
Section 1 July 1, 2019 New section
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Secretary of the State to enhance the CONCORD
commercial records database by allowing a member of the public to
ascertain the name and address of a business entity's agent for service
