AN ACT CONCERNING TH E PENALTY FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
ON STATE PARKWAYS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 13a-26 of the general statutes is amended by 1
adding subsection (g) as follows (Effective October 1, 2019): 2
(NEW) (g) Any person who operates on a parkway in this state a 3
commercial motor vehicle that is not permitted on such parkway, as 4
provided in this section, or section 14-298-249 of the regulations of 5
Connecticut state agencies, shall be fined five hundred dollars for each 6
violation. 7
Sec. 2. Subsection (b) of section 51-164n of the general statutes is 8
repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 9
October 1, 2019): 10
(b) Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes, any 11
person who is alleged to have committed (1) a violation under the 12
provisions of section 1-9, 1-10, 1-11, 4b-13, 7-13, 7-14, 7-35, 7-41, 7-83, 7-13
283, 7-325, 7-393, 8-12, 8-25, 8-27, 9-63, 9-322, 9-350, 10-193, 10-197, 10-14 Raised Bill No. 7105

bylaw of any town, city or borough, except violations of building codes 84 Raised Bill No. 7105

and the health code, for which the penalty exceeds ninety dollars but 85
does not exceed two hundred fifty dollars, unless such town, city or 86
borough has established a payment and hearing procedure for such 87
violation pursuant to section 7-152c, shall follow the procedures set 88
forth in this section. 89
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

To promote public safety and compliance with the ban of certain motor
vehicles on parkways in this state.
