AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF CERTAIN
ORGANOPHOSPHATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2020) No person shall sell, 1
distribute, use or apply chlorpyrifos. Any person who violates the 2
provisions of this section shall be fined not more than one thousand 3
dollars or imprisoned for no more than thirty days, or both. The 4
Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection may enforce 5
the provisions of this section in accordance with the provisions of 6
chapter 441 of the general statutes. 7
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
Section 1 January 1, 2020 New section
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit the use of the organophosphate pesticide chlorpyrifos.
