Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subsection (f) of section 8-3 of the general statutes is 1 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 2 October 1, 2019): 3 (f) No building permit or certificate of occupancy shall be issued for 4 a building, use or structure subject to the zoning regulations of a 5 municipality without certification in writing by the official charged 6 with the enforcement of such regulations that such building, use or 7 structure is in conformity with such regulations or is a valid 8 nonconforming use under such regulations. Such official shall inform 9 the applicant for any such certification that such applicant may 10 provide notice of such certification by [either] (1) publication in a 11 newspaper having substantial circulation in such municipality stating 12 that the certification has been issued, or (2) any other method provided 13 for by local ordinance.
