RESOLUTION PROPOSING A STATE CONSTITUTIONAL
AMENDMENT TO PROVIDE FOR LEGISLATION BY DIRECT
INITIATIVE AND REFERENDUM.
Resolved by this Assembly:
That article third and article eleventh of the Constitution of the state 1
be amended to grant to the people of the state the power of direct 2
initiative and referendum. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To provide for direct public participation in the legislative process by
granting the citizens of Connecticut the right to propose laws through
direct initiative and the power to approve or reject a statute through
referendum.
