LCO No. 3366 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 7 January Session, 2019 LCO No. 3366 Referred to Committee on ENVIRONMENT Introduced by: (ENV) AN ACT ESTABLISHING CALF PASTURE BEACH IN NOR WALK AS A WILDLIFE REFUGE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Section 26-106 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1 following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 2 (a) That portion of Milford Harbor extending from Memorial Bridge 3 to the Milford breakwater and that portion of Gulf Pond extending 4 from land of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad 5 Company to said breakwater and that portion of the upland known as 6 harbor side of Wilcox Park located on the east side of said Milford 7 Harbor, comprising five acres more or less, is established as a state 8 refuge for wildlife. The territory within the limits above described shall 9 be subject to all provisions of the general statutes relating to state 10 refuges for wildlife and to the regulations of the commissioner relating 11 to such refuges. 12 (b) The area known as Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk is established 13 as a state refuge for wildlife. The territory within said area shall be 14 subject to all provisions of the general statutes relating to state refuges 15 Committee Bill No. 7 LCO No. 3366 2 of 2 for wildlife and to the regulations of the commissioner relating to such 16 refuges except fishing in such area shall be permitted in accordance 17 with the provisions of this chapter. 18 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 October 1, 2019 26-106 Statement of Purpose: To designate Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk as a wildlife refuge but permit fishing in such refuge.
