AN ACT CONCERNING A DISCOUNT FOR SENIOR CABLE TV
SUBSCRIBERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 16-331q of the general statutes be amended to allow for 1
state regulation of basic cable television rates and that section 16-331y 2
of the general statutes be amended to require cable companies to offer 3
a senior citizen discount of ten per cent on basic cable television rates 4
for persons age sixty-five and older. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To ease the financial burden on subscribers of cable television who are
senior citizens.
