AN ACT CONCERNING THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR A 
TEMPORARY STATE PERMIT TO CARRY A PISTOL OR REVOLVER. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 29-28a of the general statutes be amended to require an 1 
applicant for a temporary state permit to carry a pistol or revolver to 2 
provide the issuing authority with (1) a completed and notarized 3 
application on the form prescribed by the Commissioner of Emergency 4 
Services and Public Protection, which form may not be modified or 5 
supplemented; (2) proof of lawful presence in the United States; (3) a 6 
certificate of completion for a course in pistol and revolver safety; and 7 
(4) two sets of fingerprints for purposes of the state and national 8 
criminal history records check required by section 29-29 of the general 9 
statutes. 10 
Statement of Purpose:   
To specify uniform criteria for an application for a temporary state 
permit to carry a pistol or revolver.
