AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE REMOVAL AND
RECYCLING OF DEBRIS IN THE HOUSATONIC RIVER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the sum of ___ dollars be appropriated to the Department of 1
Energy and Environmental Protection, from the General Fund, for the 2
fiscal year ending June 30, 2020, for the purpose of providing grants-3
in-aid to municipalities adjoining the Housatonic River for the removal 4
and recycling of debris in the river that is a danger to navigation and 5
recreational boating. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage the clean up of the Housatonic River for safety and
environmental reasons.
