AN ACT REQUIRING PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURERS TO 
SEND NOTICE TO HOMEOWNERS CONCERNING HOMEOWNERS 
INSURANCE PREMIUMS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require each 1 
property and casualty insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, renews, 2 
amends or endorses a homeowners policy for a residential dwelling in 3 
this state notify each owner of such residential dwelling when (1) such 4 
insurer receives payment from a mortgage company for any portion of 5 
the premiums for such policy, or (2) the premiums for such policy have 6 
increased. 7 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require that certain property and casualty insurers notify 
homeowners when such insurers receive premium payments for 
homeowners policies from mortgage companies or increase the 
premiums for such policies.
