AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION OF IN -LAW
APARTMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 8 of the general statutes be amended to permit 1
municipalities to facilitate and provide incentives for the construction 2
of in-law apartments and other structural modifications to residential 3
dwellings that allow individuals to care for senior citizen family 4
members at home. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage senior citizens to age in place in community settings
rather than seek institutionalized long-term care.
