AN ACT CONCERNING THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF 
PERSONS WITH ALZHEIMER'S AND DEMENTIA. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to (1) allow physician's to 1 
share a patient's Alzheimer's diagnosis and treatment plan with the 2 
patient's family member or legal personal representative within the 3 
existing framework of federal and state privacy laws, and (2) require 4 
hospitals that serve an adult population to have an operational plan in 5 
place within three years for identifying and managing individuals with 6 
dementia. 7 
Statement of Purpose:   
To enable better communication of an Alzheimer's diagnosis and 
treatment plan to family members or legal representatives within state 
and federal privacy laws and require hospitals to have an operational 
plan for identifying and managing individuals with dementia.
