AN ACT CONCERNING THE NEW BRITAIN -HARTFORD BUSWAY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 242 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require 1
the Commissioner of Transportation to submit a report to the joint 2
standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of 3
matters relating to transportation not later than July 1, 2019, and 4
biannually thereafter, regarding information about the Hartford-New 5
Britain Busway, including ridership and utilization, revenue and cost 6
of operation and maintenance; (2) require the first report submitted to 7
provide such information on a monthly basis since the busway began 8
operations; and (3) prohibit the commissioner from expanding such 9
busway without the approval of each chamber of the General 10
Assembly. 11
Statement of Purpose:
To increase transparency regarding the utilization, revenue and costs
of the Hartford-New Britain Busway.
