AN ACT REQUIRING THREE-POINT LAP AND SHOULDER SEAT
SAFETY BELTS ON SCHOOL BUSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That (1) subsection (c) of section 14-275 of the general statutes be 1
amended to require each school bus be equipped with three-point lap 2
and shoulder seat safety belts, and (2) the general statutes be amended 3
to require the operator and any passenger of a school bus that is 4
equipped with three-point lap and shoulder seat safety belts to wear 5
such belts while the school bus is being operated. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To require each school bus be equipped with three-point lap and
shoulder seat safety belts and to require passengers of a school bus to
wear seat safety belts.
