AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY REGARDING CAMERA VID EO
SYSTEMS INSIDE SCHOO L BUSES AND STUDENT
TRANSPORTATION VEHIC LES USED TO TRANSPOR T STUDENTS
WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Education 1
shall study issues related to the installation of camera video systems 2
inside school buses and student transportation vehicles used to 3
transport students with special needs and make recommendations 4
regarding the installation and operation of such systems and the 5
storage, security and use of recordings. Not later than January 1, 2020, 6
the commissioner shall submit the results of such study and any 7
recommendations, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a 8
of the general statutes, to the joint standing committees of the General 9
Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education and 10
transportation. 11
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:

transport students with special needs.
