AN ACT PROHIBITING CAPTIVE AUDIENCE MEETINGS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to provide that no employer, 1 
or agent, representative or designee of such employer, shall: (1) 2 
Require an employee to attend an employer-sponsored meeting with 3 
the employer or its agent, representative or designee, the primary 4 
purpose of which is to communicate the employer's opinion 5 
concerning political or religious matters, and (2) discharge, discipline 6 
or penalize, or threaten to discharge, discipline or penalize, any 7 
employee because the employee, or a person acting on behalf of the 8 
employee, makes a good-faith report, orally or in writing, of a 9 
violation or a suspected violation of the provisions of subdivision (1) of 10

Statement of Purpose:   
To prohibit an employer from coercing employees into attending or 
participating in meetings sponsored by the employer concerning the 
employer's views on political or religious matters.
