AN ACT CONCERNING THE ASSESSMENT OF CERTAIN FEES BY
BUILDING OFFICIALS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 29-254a of the general statutes be amended to permit a 1
municipality to impose a fee, established by the building official of 2
such municipality, on any individual who works on a building, 3
structure or electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system before 4
obtaining a required building permit, provided the amount of such fee 5
shall not exceed twice the amount of the required permit fees and shall 6
be assessed in addition to the required permit fee. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure compliance with building codes.
