AN ACT CONCERNING THE GRANTING OF ZONING VARIANCES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 8 of the general statutes be amended to provide that a 1 zoning variance may be granted by a zoning board of appeals if the 2 literal enforcement of a zoning regulation would create an exceptional 3 difficulty or unusual hardship because of a unique characteristic of the 4 subject property. 5 Statement of Purpose: To provide that a zoning variance may be granted by a zoning board of appeals if the literal enforcement of a zoning regulation would create an exceptional difficulty or unusual hardship because of a unique characteristic of the subject property.
