AN ACT ELIMINATING EXISTING UNFUNDED MANDATES AND
REQUIRING A TWO-THIRDS VOTE TO CREATE NEW UNFUNDED
MANDATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to eliminate all existing 1
unfunded mandates on January 1, 2020, and that subsection (d) of 2
section 2-32b of the general statutes be amended to require a two-3
thirds vote of each chamber of the General Assembly to enact 4
legislation that creates an unfunded mandate after said date. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To eliminate all existing unfunded mandates on January 1, 2020, and
require a two-thirds vote of each chamber of the General Assembly to
enact legislation that creates an unfunded mandate after said date.
