Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 17b-106 of the general statutes is 1 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 2 1, 2019): 3 (b) Effective July 1, [2011] 2019, the commissioner shall provide a 4 state supplement payment for recipients of Medicaid and the federal 5 Supplemental Security Income Program who reside in long-term care 6 facilities sufficient to increase their personal needs allowance to [sixty] 7 seventy-two dollars per month. Such state supplement payment shall 8 be made to the long-term care facility to be deposited into the personal 9 fund account of each such recipient. For the purposes of this 10 subsection, "long-term care facility" means a licensed chronic and 11 convalescent nursing home, a chronic disease hospital, a rest home 12 with nursing supervision, an intermediate care facility for individuals 13 with intellectual disabilities or a state humane institution. 14 Sec. 2.
