AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF SOCIAL SERVICES IN
HOSPITALS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require hospitals and 1
nonprofit organizations, through a contract with the Department of 2
Social Services, to provide social services and referrals to frequent 3
patients of hospital services, particularly emergency department 4
services. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To improve the quality of care delivered to frequent hospital patients
and reduce health care costs.
